Nominate your favorite social worker!

In March, we honor Hawaiʻi's social workers who give from their heart and dedicates their lives to serving those around them. This year, share your aloha for an exceptional social worker in your life by nominating them for the 2nd Annual Social Worker of the Year Award.

Anne Anderson

Anne is currently a SW for hospice and palliative care. Aside from her awesome skills as a social worker, I had the chance to work with Anne for a year and I got to see how much of a support she is to her colleagues out in the field. Along with her drive to provide patient-centered care, Anne seems to also have a drive to be team-centered in her work. In a very tough field of end-of-life care, she still makes time to provide support to her teammates. This not only fosters a positive work environment, but translates into positive patient experiences, as well.

Lauren Chou

Lauren is a medical social worker in the gerontology field. She has been a social worker and 2 different skilled nursing facilities. Lauren is hardworking, and hard difficult cases seem to gravitate her way. She is strong, resourceful, and knows how to get the job done. Since moving to the islands Lauren has taken a love for Hawaii, it's culture and people and is sensitive in making sure she is respectful and mindful of any family she works with. Although she is tough on the outside Lauren definitely has a big heart to help people in need.
